What is Inter-Facing?

Vincent Lévesque The Inter-Facing

The word interface means “place of interaction and the common boundary of two neighboring systems / organisms”.

When we lack clarity in connecting with ourselves and our surroundings, these “loose connections“ can become areas of enormous misunderstandings, manipulation and even abuse.

inter-facing develops the ability to relate spontaneously and appropriately, beginning with our most intrinsic relationship to gravity. This integrity is the indispensable basis for every relationship and group interaction.

Vincent Lévesque The Inter-Facing

What seems like a naive fable actually corresponds to the dominant understanding of our world from antiquity to early modern times: the human as microcosm in a macrocosm. Humans and nature are clearly one. Starting in the 18th century, however, the worldview changes, the natural sciences appear, drawing an image of the earth as a machine that serves us. The natural unity disintegrates, accelerating in the industrialization of the 19th century.

About me

What each of us brings along, how we represent and communicate ourselves, fascinates me. I have always found the exciting field of interpersonal dynamics compelling.
Originally from New York, I had the honor of performing as a classical musician (French horn) with some of the best orchestras and musicians in Europe, America and Asia. As such, I have experienced a wide spectrum and complexity of communication in many large groups - also as a lecturer and instructor at the renowned University of Music in Detmold since 1984 and as a Feldenkrais® Practitioner since 1995.

Vincent Lévesque

A series of serious physical setbacks sent me looking for answers. My in-depth research and ever-deepening discoveries of connections in the areas of functional anatomy, human action and interaction, gravity and gender research, combined with my active admiration of Argentine Tango and Nonviolent Communication are the basis of inter-facing.

I've been attending Vincent's courses for 10 years. I know and appreciate him both as a very honest person and as an excellent educator. In particular, I am always happy about his sovereignty in dealing with groups, also about how he manages to address people he doesn't know in his courses as well as those who have been familiar with him for a long time.

For years I've been doing courses with Vincent - and I never want to stop! His thoughtful method is refreshing and holistically enriching. It allows me a better connection to myself and at the same time to others. I recommend it wholeheartedly!

Vincent supports participants to create connections through awareness, both with themselves and with others. In doing so, he puts a beneficial counterweight to increasing social isolation and a feeling of self-alienation. In view of his modesty, there is no need to be fooled by the fact that his personality has gone into a deep examination of himself and his environment.

The groups I did with Vincent were very inspiring, not only the topics themselves but especially the Exemplary Way Vincent introduces the material to his clients and groups- a way of proposing new ideas so gently that these ideas seem to emerge naturally from the participants.

Lessons with Vincent Levesque always leave me feeling more centered, more relaxed and with a heightened awareness of myself, my environment and all those within it. This is most certainly due to his deep knowledge of the subject, his keen observation skills and his genuine caring for people. I certainly recommend working with him.

At a glance, it might seem easier to continue with encrusted patterns of communication.
However, upon honest reflection we might recognize this to be a fallacy.
If you’d like to simply and profoundly improve your communication for yourself and your group, I would be happy to hear from you.
Yours,
Vincent
